When Ray Davies announced 6 solo shows at Chicago’s 400-seat Apollo Theatre in April of 1996, I bought 8 tickets for every show.  You may say you’re a Kinks fan, but until you’ve controlled 2% of the Ray Davies tickets in a major metropolitan area, I don’t want to hear about it.

At the time, The Cleaning Ladys were doing a weekly rock music conversation radio show called ‘Needle Drop’ on WCBR in Arlington Heights, and Art Collins and I recorded this phoner with Ray at the end of Ray’s Chicago run.
