Beginning in 1998 with 'Imagination', in which he documents Brian Wilson's first tentative steps toward assembling a touring band, through his Grammy-nominated work capturing the remarkable live ensemble performance included on 2005's SMiLE DVD, John Anderson's onscreen collaboration with The Beach Boys' leader has spanned four commercial releases.

This documents the making of Brian’s first solo album in ten years, 1998’s ‘Imagination’. Includes portions of Brian's "comeback concert" in St. Charles, IL.
Covering 1998 to 2002, Brian resurrects his solo career and takes it on the road. He quit touring with The Beach Boys in 1964 at the age of 22, and it’s clear here that he’s getting a first-time kick out of the enormous and emotional crowd response. Includes some special moments, like when Ronnie Spector surprises him backstage at The Beacon in New York; Patti Smith pays homage; Brian conquers Japan; and, Brian throws down his microphone and dances like Yogi Bear.
Shot at London’s Royal Festival Hall in January and June of 2002, Brian and his band bring this 1966 Beach Boys masterpiece to life.
The package includes 'Pet Stories', a 40-minute documentary on the making of the original album called ‘Pet Stories’. Brian gives a comprehensive interview in his back yard, which is complemented by the recollections of co-author Tony Asher and key session musicians Hal Blaine, Carol Kaye, Don Randi and others.
In 2004, Brian mounted his most ambitious project to date, the reconstruction and in-concert performance of his lost 1967 masterpiece ‘SMiLE’. Part rock, part orchestral, part gospel, part improvisatory goofing around, with 'SMiLE', Brian takes his 10-piece band and The Stockholm Strings 'N Horns on an unforgettable trip.
